Steps to Prepare for a Fingerprinting Appointment
Preparing ahead of time helps ensure your fingerprinting appointment is fast, accurate, and successful.
1. Bring a Valid Photo ID
Please bring a government-issued photo ID. Your identity must be verified before fingerprinting begins.

2. Confirm Fingerprinting Type
Know whether your appointment is for:

Employer, licensing, background check, or court-related fingerprint
Bring any forms, codes, or instructions provided by the requesting agency.
3. Clean and Dry Your Hands
Before your appointment:

Wash your hands with soap and water

Dry them thoroughly

Avoid lotions, oils, or hand sanitizer immediately before fingerprinting
Clean, dry hands produce clearer prints.
4. Address Skin Issues in Advance
If you have:

Cuts, cracks, or bandages on your fingers

Extremely dry or peeling skin
Please inform the technician at the start of the appointment.
5. Arrive On Time
Arrive at your scheduled time or be available when a mobile technician arrives. Late arrivals may delay processing or require rescheduling.
6. Clear the Signing Area (If Meeting at Your Home)
If your appointment is at your home, please:

7. Remove Hand Accessories
Before fingerprinting:
